In Human Design, your inner authority is your body’s knowing or intelligence, how you know if a decision is the right one for you.
EMOTIONAL – SOLAR PLEXUS
With a defined solar plexus, you will need to wait until you are cool, calm and collected before making a decision of importance. This means not choosing something when you are feeling all is amazing with the world, nor when you are less than pleased with life. Striking an emotional balance takes some noticing and time. Sometimes, we can think we feel okay, but then someone will comment, asking if you are upset about something. When you think about it, maybe you are a little ‘out of sorts’? Much will depend on which emotional channels you have. This is more detail than I can go into here, however.

SACRAL
When defined, this gem of a motor center will give you a clear decision based on your excitement level. Yes, you read that correctly! What lights you up is the right way for you to go! If it doesn’t excite you, it is not for you. Ideally, do not ask someone with sacral authority open ended questions. It is in their nature to respond, so offering specific choices will bring better results.

SPLENIC
When this center is defined, there is a small inner voice that lets you know very quickly what is and isn’t a good idea. It will only ‘speak’ once, so make a note. You are likely to need to wait for the other emotional centers to come online before making that final decision. If you “smell a rat”, you probably do.

SELF AUTHORITY
Also known as the G center, this type of authority provides projectors with a strong sense of direction. Not only left and right (although that can be a thing) but also in your life’s direction.You gain clarity when you bounce your ideas off other people. You don’t really need their input, just their presence!

EGO or HEART AUTHORITY
This type of authority is all about your heart’s desire. It is also the center where motivation lives. A defined center will provide you with a pretty sustained source of motivation for the tasks that really resonate with you. Ask yourself: Is my heart really in it? It’s subjective, yes. and powerful. Follow your heart!

OUTER AUTHORITY
This is for reflectors and Projectors with only crown, ajna (mind) or throat centers defined.So, first the tough news. You don’t have an internal filter to rely on. Okay, now the good news – you do have a clear way to make decisions that work for you. Consultation with others over time. Hey, I didn’t say it was quick or easy! So, while your tendency may be to look inward and ruminate over your decisions, the correct process for you is to look outward. If you can take the time necessary and have someone you can rely on to work with you, you have the ability to be the wisest decision maker of us all.
